On the occasion of Kate Beaton’s Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands winning Canada Reads, Drawn & Quarterly has donated $2000 to the Keepers of the Water, a non-profit organization whose mandate is to elevate decolonized traditional Indigenous water governance. The Keepers of the Water have created resources and contributed to advocacy regarding the disastrous Imperial Oil tailing ponds spills.

Keepers of the Water values Water and clean biospheres in a sustainable and just future for the survival of all living beings in future generations.
