Graphic novelist and illustrator Michael D. Kennedy will be presenting a new comic at our festival hub, themed around the quest for a mythical underground cinema.

As well as getting a first look at Michael's work, you can have a go at creating the secret film theatre of your dreams.

Michael D. Kennedy grew up in Tamworth and now lives in Birmingham. Fusing Caribbean folklore and West Midlands history to mesmerising effect, his debut Milk White Steed was published last year by Drawn & Quarterly and was selected by the Guardian as one of the best graphic novels of 2025.
