Maybelline Skvortzoff
Maybelline Skvortzoff was born in 1993 in the Hauts-de-Seine region of France, to a Cambodian mother and a Russian father. Her first name doesn't come from the makeup brand, but from a Chuck Berry song. After devouring the comics of Robert Crumb and Joe Matt in her youth, she studied comics in Brussels, and eventually ended up working in a comics shop. Her first graphic novel, Dirty Panties, was selected for the official competition at the 2023 Angoulême International Comics Festival and received the Artémisia Humour Prize.
