Israeli cartoonist Rutu Modan makes her U.S. debut with a dramatic graphic novel that follows the unlikely pairing of an estranged son and his father's young mistress as they investigate a disappearance following a suicide bombing. "Exit Wounds" offers a glimpse into everyday life and broken family connections in today's Tel Aviv through mystery and realistic romance. There's no juicy pay off to the mystery really, but the book is left open-ended enough to pick up later and the characters are likable enough to keep readers engaged and coming back.
