Unearthing the lost work of a great cartoonist

    |

A couple of weeks ago Seth, Toronto journalist Brad MacKay, and I spent three days at the National Archives near Ottawa researching the work of a now nearly forgotten cartoonist, Doug Wright.

Wright’s peak years were the 1950s and 60s, where his Nipper weekly strip was published in Canadian magazines. Seth first started tracking down Wright’s work in the late 80s and early 90s (Wright appears in the glossary of It’s A Good Life, If You Don’t Weaken). Seth is also, along with Brad MacKay, one of the founders of the Doug Wright Awards.
