    |

Dear everyone, Just a reminder: Gilbert Hernandez’s Marble Season is SO close to being in your hands. Marble Season will be in stores mid-to-late April, and as someone who’s been able to read it, let me tell you that it is all the adjectives you’d want it to be: funny, subtle, keenly observed, evocative, and joyful.

Dear everyone,

Just a reminder: Gilbert Hernandez’s Marble Season is SO close to being in your hands. Marble Season will be in stores mid-to-late April, and as someone who’s been able to read it, let me tell you that it is all the adjectives you’d want it to be: funny, subtle, keenly observed, evocative, and joyful.

From the afterword by Corey Creekmur:
“Perhaps no other current creators of comics recognize (or vividly remember) the ways actual kids think, talk, or even stand and walk as accurately as the Hernandez brothers, and no other comics artists so delicately intertwine moments of childhood trauma with the goofy logic that otherwise sustains kids when they begin to sense that they live in an irrational world.”

On tour, Gilbert will present “From Funny Books to Graphic Novels”, a fascinating slide show tribute to the legacy of the comics he read as a kid. He’ll talk about the silver age comics featured in MARBLE SEASON, which helped set the course for Gilbert, as well as his brothers Jaime and Mario, to become the legendary comics creators they are today. Seriously folks, don’t miss your chance to get to know the man behind thirty years of alternative comics history.

Here are his dates written out nice ‘n’ neat! It’s going to be a GOOD spring.
