The spring of 1932 brings about big changes for everyone, Jew and Gentile, communist and nationalist. Silvia Braun, rescued from the streets by the Schwartz family, can no longer tolerate the harsh rules of the family patriarch, and sets out on her own. Anna, Marthe’s lover, is in a deep funk after a disastrous confrontation with Nazis.
